Barbara Paints ESS Donkeys Live!
Join us as we once again host burros Marley and Penelope of Equine Spirit Sanctuaryat the gallery on Saturday, July 12 from 11am to 2pm. Equine Spirit Sanctuary is a registered horse and donkey rescue of Ranchos de Taos, NM that also provides equine-assisted activities and therapeutic riding programs for children and adults with disabilities. Barbara will paint portraits of the therapy donkeys live as we educate visitors about ESS’ important and ongoing work. Artist and gallery owner Barbara Meikle is celebrating 12 years of raising money for Equine Spirit Sanctuary with live events, paintings, prints and bronzes. To mark this anniversary, we will also be releasing two limited-edition prints, featuring horses and burros, with a portion of all print proceeds donated to the rescue. In addition, a portion of all gallery sales that day, including paintings Barbara completes of the burro visitors, will also be donated to ESS’ therapy programs and rescue work.
Barbara Paints the Birds of Santa Fe Raptor Center
Come watch Barbara paint portraits live of ambassador birds from Santa Fe Raptor Center! This is our second time hosting Santa Fe Raptor Center at the gallery for an animal event and fundraiser.
Opening Weekend - 20th Annual "Cowgirl Up!" Exhibit & Sale
Join Barbara for her 13th year participating in this prestigious Western show at the Desert Caballeros Western Museum in Wickenburg, AZ. Featuring exclusively women artists, the opening weekend is jam packed with events and Barbara will be in attendance - including a miniature and main artworks live auction and an artist quick draw. Join us at the gallery for a multi-media collaborative show featuring new artworks from Simone B. Silva and Kyle Maier. Inspired by their research in historical photo archives, see new paintings, prints, and a short film inspired by Santa Fe and surrounding New Mexico.
"Women's Work" - Group Show
Join Barbara for the opening of this special Cowgirl Artists of America show, ”Women’s Work”, featuring work by Western women artists and makers celebrating women’s roll on working ranches. Barbara will release a special limited-edition bronze, inspired by Jenny Lancaster of Lancaster Horse Training of Taos, NM.

Telluride Plein Air
See Barbara in Telluride, CO for the Telluride Plein Air Events, a celebration of outdoor painting. Barbara will join other celebrated plein air artists as they paint in and around Telluride, with an Exhibition and Sale Thursday, July 4 through Saturday, July 6.
